Charity Hope Valentine is employed as a hostess at a New York dance hall in the late 1960s.  Inside the Fan Dango Ballroom, Charity is companioned with streetwise hostess who often share their cynical advice about love.  Outside the dance hall, Charity's innocent vulnerability is repeatedly taken advantage of by con artist, panhandlers and even a boyfriend who pushes her into a lake while stealing her life savings.

Charity's "real" chance for happiness comes when the fickle finger of fate traps her in an elevator with a claustrophobic tax accountant, Oscar Lindquist, who also seems to be in search of "something".  Romance ensues only to falter when Oscar discovers Charity's true and dating history.

A Big Beaut Aussie Musical for Families and Kids!

Brought to the stage by one of Australia’s leading producers of musical theatre for children, this simple story has been cleverly developed into a true-blue-dinky-di-big-Aussie-musical.

The simple story of a dingo who catches a wombat and decides to make wombat stew, has been cleverly developed into a ‘mouth-watering’ combination story-telling, mime, music, dance and puppetry, complete with blobs of mud, very fine feathers, creepy crawlies, flies, gum-nuts and a big bubbling billy can!

Relay for Life is a local community event designed to remember those lost to cancer, honour survivorship & create hope for the future.
All funds raised go towards cancer research, education programs on prevention & early detection & support services.

Come and join us at the 2014 Nambour Relay For Life. A fantastic opportunity to get together with your community to celebrate, remember and fight back against cancer.

Celebrate

Be inspired as Survivors and Carers take part in the Survivors Walk during the opening ceremony.

Remember
Lay your candle tributes to remember those that we have lost and to give hope to those who continue to inspire us.

Fight Back!

For your family, your friends, your community.

Cancer never sleeps, hence the reason Relay for Life is an overnight team event. Teams of 10-15 people take turns in walking or running relay style around a track for 18 hours while enjoying a carnival-style atmosphere & camping out. Each team member is encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 in the lead-up to the event.
A non-stop entertainment program runs all night which includes live musical entertainment, movies & on-track games. Participants are encouraged to dress-up & make the event as sociable as they like. Small prizes for the best team theme, best campsite, best letterbox, best baton.
The Survivors Walk. These people are living proof that these vital funds really do make a difference. This symbolic lap of honour wearing a purple sash is part of the Relay for Life’s Opening Ceremony. If you are a survivor of cancer celebrate the journey by participating. Survivors are to arrive no later than 2.15pm to register for their symbolic lap starting at 3pm.
