Dorothy the Dinosaur

10am
The Events Centre
20 Minchinton St Caloundra
Announcing the new Dorothy the Dinosaur Show! The smash hit television show seen in over 21 countries around the world has now been brought to the theatre stage!
Children worldwide have been engaged, enchanted and entertained by Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus, Captain Feathersword, Fairy Clare and Fairy Larissa’s adventures and songs.
The show stars Dorothy the Dinosaur, a graduate capital of R.A.D.D (The Royal Academy of Dinosaur Dancing!) Australia’s favourite dinosaur has performed at New York’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Apollo Theatre in London and even in Shanghai and now returns to the Australian stage for this brand new show!
The new Dorothy the Dinosaur show has been written by Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field, who also produced the music.
‘My three children adore Dorothy the Dinosaur, so I wanted to put together a concert that reflected the high quality of the TV show that they love’, said Anthony Field.
Children will enjoy meeting old friends and making new ones as they sing, dance, watch, listen and learn.
‘The simple storyline of this theatre show is propelled by some fun and beautiful music and dancing’, added Anthony.
He has recorded the Rosy Orchestra performing songs for Dorothy and her friends to sing along with, such as the delightful Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star! Children will love dancing to Dr Knickerbocker and bouncing up and down to Come On Let’s Jump! Captain Feathersword will be joined by Don the Postman, who sings his signature song. You’ll shake your hips with Wags the Dog and dance a fairy jig with The Fairy Dance.

Along with such hit songs as Romp Bomp A Stomp, To Have A Tea Party and Balla, Balla Bambina, audiences will be ecstatic as the show culminates with Let’s Have A Party!
If you think you’ve seen Dorothy the Dinosaur, then think again! To quote the star of the show, ‘The dancing is delightful and the music is really rosalicious. I know children around Australia will have so much fun when they come to my brand new show!’

Caloundra RSL, 19 West Tce Caloundra
In a career spanning 30 years, Grace Knight has earned her stripes as one of Australia’s premier jazz vocalists.
She launched the Eurogliders to the top of the charts in the ’80s, became Australia’s number-one selling jazz diva in the ’90s and has performed alongside the best in the business.
Though Grace, 50, has tasted plenty of success she says some of the best times have been when she has played at intimate gigs in front of enthusiastic audiences.
“I think if the audience has enjoyed it, that’s the highlight for me,” she said.
“I’ve played with famous people, but to be honest it’s not really a highlight because you’re kind of stilted in what you can do.
“But the greatest part is just simply the fact that I’ve been doing this for 30 years and am still getting paid to do what I love.”
Non-Members will require photo identification to gain access to the venue.
