Sun 21 Mar
Toni Childs
In Concert
Supported by Bobby Flynn
The Events Centre
20 Minchinton Street Caloundra
8pm to 10.30pm

Back by popular demand, three time Grammy nominee Toni Childs is heading to Australia for an encore live national tour. Toni Childs performed a string of sell-out shows in Australia earlier this year and will once again be thrilling audiences with her signature husky vocals and emotive lyrics.

The upcoming tour sees Toni performing her blockbuster hits, as well as showcasing her latest hit album Keep The Faith. The songs from this emotionally hard-hitting album are a blend of roots, rock, folk and gospel songs. Toni’s tour earlier this year demonstrated to audiences the enormous soul and vision she is famous for.

Best known for her heavily R&B influenced Dont Walk Away, Toni Childs hit the big time in 1988 when her critically acclaimed debut album Union went Double Platinum in Australia, selling 200,000 albums. The same year she was nominated for three Grammys, including Best New Artist. Her second album, House of Hope went three times platinum and in 1997, the release of Many Rivers to Cross caused her Greatest Hits album to go five times platinum, selling over 500,000 albums.

In 2008, Toni Childs also launched a new body care range, Feminine Mysteries, which is inextricably linked to her Keep The Faith album. It also encourages people to connect, heal and transform the world through love.

Living on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, Toni has spent the last eight years recovering from the Graves Disease she was diagnosed with in the summer of 1997. Overcoming her battle with this rare stress disorder, she recently came back from her musical exile giving fans so much more than they might ever have expected.

With a talent for picking the mood of the times, Toni Childs seems determined to go beyond affirming her role as an important voice of inspiration for an entirely new generation to explore the zeitgeist defining theme of global connection.

ROCKWIZ LIVE SHOW
Nambour Civic Centre - Main Hall
Currie St Nambour
RocKwiz Live Show
FIRST EVER LIVE NATIONAL TOUR of AUSTRALIA!
It had to happen! Dugald is breaking the RocKwiz team out of the confines of the Gershwin Room and bumping them into a Live Australian Tour!
Mistress of ceremonies Julia Zemiro; firm but fair co-host Brian Nankervis; the legendary RocKwiz Orkestra and Dugald (with mystery guests in tow) will be touring live for the first time ever in the shows five year on-air history! It will be just like you see on your tellie every Saturday night on SBS - but this time, so close you can smell them!
This incredible live tour of AFI Award winning RocKwiz's witty and exciting music trivia show will be purely for the pleasure of the local audiences who are lucky enough to catch it on stage. These shows are not for broadcast, which is all the more reason that each is a not-to-be-missed live event!
Since first screening in January 2005, RocKwiz has become SBS's Saturday night staple for the stay at home crowd. Now in its seventh series, the ground-breaking program has presented over 200 Australian and international musical recording and touring artists, some legends and some performing live on TV for the first time. There have been over 400 music trivia tragics plucked from the Gershwin Room audience and given their 30 minutes of geeky glory.

RocKwiz is unique and exciting television, cleverly blending live music performances with engaging chat and music trivia questions. In an era where there are precious few opportunities to see live music performances on prime time TV, RocKwiz rates as the best of them by making the music the star of the show. This happens right from the kick-off where both guest artists are asked to sing their own songs before the serious questioning begins. Each episode climaxes when the guests duet on a classic song with the RocKwiz Orkestra to produce a unique, one-off musical moment and sometimes the most unlikely pairing will deliver the most magical performance. RocKwiz clearly loves and respects all forms of music - pop, rock, soul, roots, country and alternate/indie acts have all found a welcome, open door at RocKwiz.
